"Encaustic Painting"

This workshop allows participants to explore painting and sculpting. It is an age old technique that involves maintaining colored waxes at liquid temperature and using them to paint in translucent layers. Wax can be built up and carved into to expose the colors in the underlayers. Objects can be embedded in the wax to give a buried treasure feel. The possibilities are endless and, since the wax hardens fairly quickly, there is an element of instant gratification! This is a great workshop for people who have tried painting and want to play with more dimension.
